I am crazy about helping you to create a beautiful life because how can you have the life you love if you don’t love the way you look?
I have photographed 100’s of women who used to feel just like that, who felt that they had let themselves go, who only looked after their family and not themselves, who had been through the menopause, difficult divorces or illnesses which had left them feeling unfeminine and drab. They made the decision to change, to make a new life for themselves and contacted me. Here are their stories:
Jane had never had a nice photo taken and rarely treats herself as her children take usually centre stage. Jane saw the photos of her friend that I had taken and thought they were amazing and decided on the spur of the moment to book. She was really nervous and nearly didn’t go through with it - In fact I have never seen anyone who hates looking at herself as much as Jane. So much so that we had to place a vase of flowers in front of her so she didn’t have to look at herself in the mirror. But she soon relaxed with a coffee whilst Sasha did her hair and make up. She loved not having to do anything or make decisions. This what she had to say about her shoot: “I find it very hard being photographed but when you showed me the picture in the back of the camera I couldn’t believe my eyes – I felt really emotional. Since the shoot I feel more confident about my appearance, more content about how I look and how others see me, and the response from my friends on Facebook has been overwhelming. If anyone is unsure whether they should do this, my advice is: Do it! Every woman has got something to offer and she might not see it but life is too short not to be happy with how you look. I’m going to recommend it to my friends and book a shoot for my daughter”.
When Sue contacted me after seeing my page on Facebook she was coming to terms with the loss of a loved one, she was drifting, lacking a sense of purpose and said she felt ugly and overweight. She had experienced a makeover photoshoot years ago and enjoyed it however this was different. After the makeover when she looked in the mirror she barely recognised herself. This is what she had to say: “It was fantastic and I loved the whole thing – I felt really relaxed comfortable and safe, even though I was out of my comfort zone. It’s not easy to put your trust in someone else when you have been hurt as much as I have. The biggest moment for me was when I posted my pictures on Facebook. The feedback I had from people, including total strangers blew me away. Janette, you have no idea how much you and your make up artist changed my life that day. I feel strong and confident and whilst life continues to throw the odd curved ball, I am much more able to deal with it. To anyone not sure about booking a session I would say – Do it, get out of your comfort zone, trust Janette and her team and it will be totally worth it.”
Honestly it is impossible to do justice to the experience I had yesterday with you through words, but I will give it a go! I'm so grateful for the way you created the whole day from the heartwarming chat we had to the pampering of having my hair and make up done so I didn't need to worry about that, and of course the way you put me at ease so you could get my natural beauty to radiate outwards in the photos (amidst lots giggles and laughter). I shared with you how my self confidence had taken quite a few knocks following a painful divorce and I've come home feeling like my confidence has been restored, I feel stronger and optimistic again about the future. Thank you from the bottom of my heart xx This was so much more than having photographs taken for my website and I still have them to look forward to!
